Founded in 1962 by Daniel C. Gainey and his son, Daniel J. Gainey, Gainey Vineyard boasts nearly 150 acres of sustainably farmed vineyards. The Gaineys are committed to farming their vineyards in a safe and sustainable way; a way that protects their workers, benefits the environment and produces fine wines.

Gainey Vineyard was the first winery to own properties in both the warm, eastern end of the valley, where the family concentrates on Bordeaux varieties (Home Ranch in Santa Ynez Valley), and the cool, western end of the valley, where they focus on Burgundian varieties (Evans Ranch in Sta. Rita Hills).
